HYBC-SS

Material Characteristics

The use of ultrafine boron carbide micropowder (particle size is usually 0.5-1.0μm) as raw material, adding certain sintering additives, generally using C-TiB2, usually need to add binder, dispersant and other organic solvents, after spray drying process to form granulation powder, using a variety of molding processes, vacuum or argon protection under high temperature sintering (temperature is usually in the 2100-2200 ℃), sintering density is usually Sintered density is usually greater than 98% of the theoretical density, the density is generally 2.48-2.53g/cm3, grain size is generally not more than 20μm.

Performance Characteristics

  • Ultra-hardness, excellent wear resistance (typically Vickers hardness over 2500 kgf/mm2)
  • Very high bending strength (typically three-point bending strength greater than 300 MPa)
  • Commonly used in the manufacture of high hardness wear and ballistic products
