CORESIC® RBG

CORESIC® RBG Reaction bonded silicon infiltrated silicon carbide (SiSiC), by Gel Casting

Material Characteristics

Using silicon carbide micro-powder of different particle sizes as raw materials, without granulation, direct silicon carbide powder, carbon source, added to the monomer, cross-linking agent, water, dispersant, defoamer, toughening agent, PH adjusting agent, retarding agent and other additives to form a premix, in the catalyst and the initiator of the action of the monomer cross-linking agent curing the formation of a three-dimensional network structure, ceramic powder is locked in a gel network, the green body density of a higher, for the 2.3-2.4g/cm3, strength of 20MPa, can be processed, at 1500 ℃ (liquid phase) or 1700 ℃ (gas phase) under the infiltration of silicon to form a silicon carbide - silicon complex ceramics, sintered density of 3.05-3.06g/cm3

Features and Applications

CORESIC® RBG materials have extremely high flexural strength (typically >350Mpa), high fracture toughness (>4.26MPa-m1/2), and high modulus of elasticity (>350Gpa), and are typically used in aerospace mirrors, semiconductor structures, and other special high-strength, high-modulus applications.
